Powered by an auto-gated Pinnacle Gen3 image intensification tube, this binocular system has the uncanny ability to constantly adjust to prevailing urban light conditions. No matter how extreme the changes in light might be, by quickly oscillating – or autogating – current draw from the microchannel plate, the PVS-7’s auto-gated power supply dynamically controls the amount of current that’s fed to the image intensifier.

Because of this, in the presence of an unexpected flash or burst of bright light the image tube will instantly stabilize the brightness of the onscreen image. The user’s situational awareness is never compromised, something that’s particularly important for urban surveillance operations where streetlights or the oncoming glare of headlights would quickly render standard night vision devices useless.

PVS-7 binoculars feature intuitive user controls, an integral infrared illuminator and on-screen low battery and IR indicators.
